Privacy policy

This page explains the information used to provide HIUSA purchasing, forwarding, payment, support, and delivery services.

English-language notice

This page is an English explanation of the published Korean privacy policy for customer convenience. The Korean privacy policy remains the governing version if a translation differs, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

1. Who handles your information

JIN EXPRESS LTD operates HIUSA and is responsible for personal information handled through hiusa.co.kr and the related customer services. The company address is 645 Lunt Ave, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007-6400, USA.

2. Information we collect

  • Account details such as name, email address, phone number, and credentials.
  • Sender, recipient, address, and customs-identification information.
  • Product links, descriptions, quantities, values, order, parcel, and shipment records.
  • Quote, invoice, payment status, refund, and transaction-reference information.
  • Support messages, uploaded evidence, preferences, and service communications.
  • Device, browser, cookie, access, security, and site-interaction information.

Payment providers process the payment credentials needed to authorize a card transaction. HIUSA does not ask customers to place a full card number in a support message.

3. Why we use information

  • Create and secure accounts and verify the person making a request.
  • Review products and parcels, prepare quotes, and provide requested services.
  • Process payments, reconcile transactions, issue eligible refunds, and prevent fraud.
  • Arrange receiving, customs preparation, transportation, tracking, and delivery.
  • Answer support requests, handle claims, and send operational notices.
  • Meet tax, accounting, customs, legal, security, and dispute obligations.
  • Improve service reliability and offer marketing communications when consent is required.

4. Cookies and similar technology

HIUSA may use cookies or similar browser storage to maintain sign-in state, remember choices, protect the service, and understand site operation. Browser settings can block or delete cookies, but essential account and transaction features may then stop working.

5. When information is shared

HIUSA may share only the information needed with retailers, warehouses, payment providers, fraud-prevention services, customs brokers, government authorities, carriers, delivery partners, hosting providers, communications providers, and professional advisers. HIUSA may also disclose information when required by law, to protect customers or the service, or in connection with a lawful business transaction.

6. International processing

A Korea-to-U.S. transaction requires information to move between countries and service providers. Recipient, parcel, customs, and contact information may be processed in Korea, the United States, and countries used by a carrier. HIUSA uses contractual, technical, and operational safeguards appropriate to the service and applicable law.

7. Retention and deletion

HIUSA keeps personal information only as long as needed for the purpose collected and for legal, tax, accounting, customs, fraud-prevention, warranty, claim, and dispute periods. Account information may be deleted after account closure, while transaction records may be retained where law or a legitimate claim requires it. Information is securely deleted or de-identified when the retention purpose ends.

8. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, a customer may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or withdrawal of consent. Customers can update supported account details through the account area or contact HIUSA. A request may require identity verification, and some transaction records cannot be deleted until a legal retention period ends.

9. Security

HIUSA uses access controls, encrypted network connections, system monitoring, malware protection, backups, and other administrative and technical measures designed to protect personal information. No system can guarantee absolute security. Customers should use a unique password and report suspected account misuse promptly.

10. Children

HIUSA does not knowingly collect a child's personal information without the consent or authorization required by applicable law. A parent or legal guardian may contact HIUSA to request access, correction, withdrawal, or deletion where those rights apply.

11. Policy changes

HIUSA may update this policy as services, providers, or legal requirements change. Material changes will be published through the site or another appropriate customer notice before they take effect when required.

12. Privacy questions
